6 Brilliant Tips For Superb Radio-Friendly Songwriting

September 21, 2015

It’s hard to break into the music industry – we can’t deny this truth. Nevertheless, there are so many talented people out there who try all their best to reach success.

musicMusic – An Ever-There Precious Friend

Music is an important aspect of our lives. It surrounds us since our very first days and it accompanies our growth all lifelong. From baby lullabies to kindergarten songs, from song-singing during teenage to mature songs for adult life. Music is one of our best friends in life. It’s always there when we need to be alone with our thoughts by listening to a song. Music is there when we celebrate important life events, like marriage, birthdays, family get-together parties, and so on.

And reason #1 why music is so strongly present in our existence is that it brings numerous positive effects on our brains. It releases stress and mental fatigue, it helps us stay more focused on our task. Music helps runners run faster and feel less tired at the end of the day. Music can improve our quality of sleep and overall mood.

Music is widely used for these precious benefits on the human brain in many different fields. For example, in waiting rooms for releasing the stress for the wait and anxiety about time. Music is also used in many casino games to allow the gamblers to stay more focused on the game and have better chances to win a prize. Of course, the gamblers can decide to turn the music background either on or off at any time. Usually, high-quality games feature the greatest music backgrounds like the games that you can find in the casinos sponsored at India-Casinos.com. This is one of the newest and most appreciated casino resources on the web. The staff of India Casinos verifies and selects only the best casinos ever for a very wide pool of international gamblers.

Learn To Write A Great Song For Radio Shows

One of the most important ways to spread new music hits is the radio. However, today you can also use more channels, for example, Youtube, local TV shows, local holidays, or music festivals.

So, either you want to write a song for the radio or a TV commercial, you should keep in mind our songwriting method that will save you time. At the same time, you will write an engaging song that your listeners will want to listen to over and over. If you are ready to go, keep a note of the following steps:

  1. Titlesongwriting
It’s crucial to give a song idea a title, but it’s necessary if you want to stay focused on that idea all your songwriting long. Create a short phrase (1-to-6 words) that sums up the main concept that you want to use for your song.
  2. Questions
Now, question yourself about your title. For example, what does it mean? What hidden meaning can it include, too? What feelings does the title evoke? Or what fact made happen the things in your title? The more questions you can answer, the sharper shape your idea will get.
  3. Song structure
Choose a song structure. Consider that one of the most used structures are “verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge-chorus. Some songs have a sort of “pre-chorus” short section, as well. The pre-chorus, chorus, and verse should have an identifiable melody that is specific to your song.
  4. A question for each verse and chorus
Get back to your questions. Pick one and give an answer to put in the chorus and do the same job for each verse. Make sure to focus on the chorus first, as this is the main part of the entire song. You can get inspired by images or action words to put in words your answers.
  5. Melodymelody
To find a melody for your lyrics, try to read them out loud. Then, try to empathize with certain words and put emotions in the lyrics. Slowly, a melody will naturally come out in the form of the rhythm of your speech. At this point, try a simple chord pattern until you find the right rhythm. Finally, record yourself and listen to yourself to find out what you can adjust.
  6. Review your lyrics with music
Now that you have row lyrics and a melody, review them all. Your goal is to find a connection between the several parts of your song structures and between lyrics and melody in each song part. Practice over and over and record your version. Have someone trusted who can tell you an honest opinion about your work, so you can adjust it again for the better.

Keep in mind to be consistent and motivated when you write a song. Don’t overwork on your emotions and vocal skills, just follow your inspiration.
