Last week, hip hop artist KJ-52 announced that his next studio project would be funded via PledgeMusic as an indie release. Yesterday, KJ launched the campaign for the album, which is titled Jonah, after his real first name. Visit the campaign here for more info: http://www.pledgemusic.com/projects/kj52
KJ wrote, “As I sit here and type this I’m a bit in awe of the faithfulness of God’s provision for me over the years… today I got to launch the pre-order for my brand new, 11th album, “Jonah.” It’s crazy that I even get to type this — to have a career this long and to do what I love is nothing more than a blessing that I dont deserve. God has provided so many different ways that I often want to pinch myself to see if it’s still real.
Today is my first foray into the world of independent music. Without going into all the details on why just yet, all I can say right now this move has reinvigorated my passion for what I do on so many levels. In 16 years, I dont think I’ve ever asked this before, but here goes:
Please help 🙂
If my music/time/words/shows/life/heart/lyrics have ever spoken into your life in some way, could you take the time to go to www.pledgemusic.com/kj52 and pledge one of the campaigns? Rather than doing the typical “here’s our goal… help us raise x amount,” you get something back. It can be a show/tshirt/cd/vinyl/shoes (the list goes on), and most improtantly, we get to make the record together! You will get to see firsthand the process… if you swing by there now, there’s two snippets of song demos I’m working on (more to come) and you get a free download of “Swagzilla” ft. Martymar.”
