Switchfoot Cancels BRO-AM 2020

April 4, 2020

Switchfoot launched their San Diego even Bro-Am in 2005, and sadly, today, the band has announced the tough decision to cancel the event for 2020. Below is their announcement:

“With a heavy heart, we’ve made the difficult but necessary decision not to host the in-person BRO-AM events this June. The heart of BRO-AM is to support those in need and in the midst of this global pandemic, staying home is the best way to do that.

While we can’t physically be together for our annual community hug this summer, we can still keep the heart of BRO-AM beating by helping kids in immediate need — this is why we exist! With schools and businesses shut down, a growing number of kids in our community are facing hunger. Our friends at Feeding San Diego are working diligently to meet the rapidly increasing need for food during the COVID-19 Pandemic. The BRO-AM community has supported this incredible organization for many years, and they need our support now more than ever.

Every dollar contributed will be matched up to one million dollars. A special thanks to Gwendolyn M. Sontheim and the Aqualia International Foundation LTD for doubling the impact.

As a band, and a community, these are the moments that galvanize us. Here’s what we’re doing on our end to play our part:

20% of sales in the SWITCHFOOT store this week will be donated to the COVID-19 Relief fund.

Additionally, the BRO-AM Foundation will be donating $5,000 to kick things off.

Times are tough for everyone at the moment, if it is within your means to donate or pick up that new hoodie you’ve had your eye on, there’s no better time than now. If you’ve been dreaming about the next Switchfoot concert, so have we! Till then, Jon will be posting a song a day #LiveFromHome on Instagram and YouTube.

We love our SWITCHFOOT Family! Stay safe, stay home, sing it out.

Jon, Tim, Chad, Drew & Jerome
